Therapy with Emily

If you're here, you're likely fighting a quiet—or not so quiet—battle with your body, your relationship to food, or with a harsh inner critic that just won’t let up. Maybe you’ve spent years trying to fix yourself, control the uncontrollable, or numb the discomfort inside. But what if the answer isn’t in fixing, but in coming home—to yourself?

I specialize in working with those who struggle with poor body image, disordered eating patterns, chronic dieting, and the deeper emotional pain that lives underneath. Beneath the surface of food and body challenges, there are often stories of shame and trauma wanting to be unpacked.

I use a blend of somatic psychotherapy, IFS, and mindfulness-based interventions to help my clients go deeper into their emotions and learn to meet their needs directly rather than through self-limiting behaviors.

Training

I received my Master's Degree in Clinical Counseling from Naropa University, specializing in somatic, mindful-ness based counseling practices. My education drew from Hakomi, Gestalt therapy, and Buddhist psychology principles. In practice, I offer compassionate, depth-oriented care that creates a safe environment for healing to take place in the here-and-now.

I completed my clinical internship and associate therapy hours at an eating disorder treatment center, offering me extensive experience working with people going through ED recovery.

Additionally, I received my PACT couples therapy training from Stan Tatkin, an expert in psycho-biological approaches to counseling.
